1 Forget About Time
Set a timer to indicate when you have finished your meditation. This allows the mind to release its grip on scheduling and gives you more chance of reaching silence and obtaining presence.
2 Relocate Now & Again
Meditating in nature is especially beautiful. Parks, forests, mountains, oceans and lakes all offer enriching access to deeper states of being. Meditating outside allows you to escape your usual distractions, switch off and bring a fresh, new dimension to your practice. And if the sun is shining, you get the added bonus of a necessary dose of vitamin D!
3 Let It Be
Meditation is simply evolving the capacity to stop, sit down and watch yourself ‘happening’, don’t expect too much too soon. Reinforce the importance of being non-judgemental with yourself, and instead practice acceptance and patience.
