It’s time for June’s Conscious Interview!
This month we have been getting to know John Lingley, a passionate Mindfulness and meditation practitioner and facilitator. Mindfulness has been truly life-changing for John and supported him immensely in overcoming recurrent depression and anxiety and coping with stress. John loves to support others in overcoming the troublesome and distressing aspects of their lives, so they can grow and be the person that they truly are, and not live their lives through their previous negative conditioning. John is currently running 8 week Mindfulness and meditation programmes which have been very well received and also delivers 1:1 sessions with people as well as working in a counselling agency.
Enjoy!

How can the business world benefit from mindfulness?
The business world can benefit from a calmer workforce with increased empathy and a stronger ability to be reflective and responsive about stressful situations rather than reactive. This can create greater harmony, compassion, and allow us to form deeper connections with each other. In turn this can help us transcend the egoic mind, leading to greater productivity, improved health and wellbeing and less absence through illness.
What does ‘digital wellbeing’ mean to you?
Using the internet to learn meditation, mindfulness and exercise programmes.
Do you think technology will increase or decrease wellbeing?
I feel that it can result in an increase in wellbeing as people learn relaxation techniques through the internet and apps. It can also decrease wellbeing as people get hooked on the internet and technology, possibly resulting in less exercise and meditation time. “Energy flows where your attention goes”. We all have the great human gift of choice! We choose and are responsible where we decide to put our energy!
